about

Soundscapes #42 is the first edition of the new "it's not a live music night for the time being it's an online release" format. It's still three acts/sets but BYO drink breaks and dorky banter. The gig price was $10, however this release is pay-what-you-can. The proceeds fund the artist commissions. I am totally stoked to present this month's artists and their new works...

Em Fishpool - Djiraali
Em Fishpool is a Yuin artist based in Ngunawal/Ngunnawal/Ngambri country. Em's sound ranges from neo-classical and dark ambient to transcendental electronica. Em's work is relational to their experience of co-becoming with space/place. The work is a reflection of deep and inner movements that permeate through perceptions of time.

bland - Momento Mori #1
Born out of Texas to emerge in Canberra in early 2019, members include Dr. Allan and Greg-O. Together they create a sonic environment that immerses audiences in a compelling acoustic experience of electric bass and melodic electro-digital beats as they explore the meta-musical boundaries of post-apocalyptic punk.

Jocko Homomorphism - Study In Feedback
Jocko Homomorphism is a hobbyist musician originally from the United States. They enjoy creating electronic music and learning new techniques over time. Soundscapes #42 mark's JH's return to the US, and they have been glad to be a part of the Canberra experimental scene.
The composition features many interpretations of feedback - a guitar pedal plugged into itself, self-generating synthesizer patches, loops via a lo-fi delay line, pitched echoes and reverb lines, and signal distortion to taste.
